What is a Gradual Tan Moisturiser?
Our Gradual Tan Moisturiser combines hydration with a buildable self-tan, allowing you to develop a natural-looking glow while keeping skin soft, smooth and nourished.
Which shade should I choose?
Light/Medium is ideal for fair to medium skin tones or those looking for a subtle glow.
Medium/Dark is perfect for medium to deeper skin tones or anyone wanting a richer, deeper tan.
How often should I apply it?
Apply daily until you achieve your desired depth of colour, then reapply as needed to maintain your glow.
How long does it take to develop?
Your tan develops gradually over several hours after each application and builds with continued daily use.
How should I prepare my skin?
For the best results:
- Exfoliate 24 hours before tanning.
- Shave or wax the day before.
- Lightly moisturise dry areas such as elbows, knees and ankles.
- Apply to clean, dry skin.
Should I use a tanning mitt?
Yes. We recommend using a tanning mitt for a smooth, even, streak-free application and to help prevent staining your hands. Our mitt will launch in late August
Will it moisturise my skin?
Yes. Our formula is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane, Cocoa Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Coffee Extract and Sea Moss Extract to help leave skin feeling hydrated and nourished.
Can I use it every day?
Yes. It is designed for daily use to gradually build and maintain your tan.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes, you can. However, it has been developed primarily as a body product. If you’re looking for a dedicated facial tan, our Luxe Facial Tan Drops are specifically formulated for facial use.
Does it contain DHA?
Yes. Our Gradual Tan Moisturiser contains Premium Grade DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), the active tanning ingredient that develops a temporary tan by reacting with the outermost layer of the skin.
Is DHA safe?
Yes. DHA has been widely used in cosmetic self-tanning products for many years and is approved for use in self-tanners. It works on the outermost layer of the skin to create a temporary, natural-looking tan.
Is it suitable during pregnancy?
Our Gradual Tan Moisturiser contains DHA, which works on the outermost layer of the skin. Self-tanning products are generally considered suitable for topical use during pregnancy; however, we recommend consulting your GP, midwife or healthcare professional before introducing any new cosmetic product during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Does it contain fragrance?
Yes. Our Gradual Tan Moisturiser contains fragrance and naturally occurring fragrance allergens. As with most self-tanning products, you may notice a mild tanning scent as the colour develops.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
If you have sensitive skin, we recommend carrying out a patch test on the inner arm 24–48 hours before first use, particularly as the formula contains fragrance and fragrance allergens.
Does it contain SPF?
No. This product does not contain SPF and does not protect against UV rays. Always apply a suitable sunscreen when your skin is exposed to the sun.
Is it vegan and cruelty free?
Yes. Our Gradual Tan Moisturiser is suitable for vegans and is cruelty free.
How long can I use it after opening?
The Period After Opening (PAO) is 12 months (12M).
How should I store it?
Store upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Can I use it around pets?
Allow the product to dry completely before close contact with pets and avoid allowing pets to lick freshly applied product. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
Will it transfer onto clothing?
Allow the product to dry completely before dressing. As with any self-tan, we recommend avoiding light-coloured clothing until the product has fully absorbed.
